This course deals with the design verification and testing in the VLSI design process. It provides an overview of the various components involved in the process of verification of digital circuits. It also includes the different concepts and techniques in digital system testing for digital circuits.
Course Objectives:
- To differentiate between design verification and testing
- To expose the students to the basic concepts of verification and testing
- To discuss various simulator architectures and introduce the concept of testbench in verification.
- To introduce the concepts of algorithm development for automatic test pattern generation for digital circuit.
- To discuss fundamentals of design for testability.
